Good news! With Timeless™ fence posts, there's no need for insulators because the posts themselves act as insulators. Simply run the electric wire directly through the predrilled post holes, spaced every three inches. It's that easy!

Many of our products are backed by a 15 to 20 year warranty. Be sure to discuss details with one of our team members.

  • The 1.5" profile post is well-suited for small to medium-sized animals that exert minimal strain on the fence and do not need to deter larger predators. This is a great option for sheep, goat or pig fencing.
  • The 1.75" profile post is designed to accommodate animals of all sizes and activity levels, ranging from sheep to bison to wild game. This post offers a sturdy perimeter for your livestock and predators. This is a great option for cattle or horse fencing.
  • The 2.125" profile is most suitable for areas where the fence experiences greater strain and require increased rigidity. This could include areas near significant safety hazards including busy roads or areas with large, aggressive predators. This is a great option for cattle or horse fencing.

Sorry folks, to answer this question we are going to do a little math, but we promise to make it painless.

Animal Shoulder Height (inches)

Adjustment for Animal Activity Level (inches)

Buried portion of the post (inches)

________________________

Required Post Length (inches)

Animal Shoulder Height - What is the shoulder height of the animal you are constructing the fence for in inches?

Adjustment for Activity Level - Is your animal highly active, tends to jump, or possess a strong reproductive drive? If yes, add 6 to 18 inches.

Buried Portion of the Post –

Is Animal Sholder Height + Adjustment for Activity Level less than 84 inches, then add 18 inches.

Is Animal Shoulder Height + Adjustment for Activity Level greater than or equal to 84 inches, then add 24 inches.

  • Top strand – animal shoulder height + adjustment or activity
  • Bottom strand – To mitigate the risk of an animal's head getting caught in the fence wire, it's advisable to position the bottom strand of fencing at a height that discourages grazing underneath the fence.
  • Highly active animals or those with a high reproductive drive will typically require fences with increased wire density, serving as a physical deterrent
  • Animals with dense coats may require additional fencing lines to ensure greater points of contact with the fence.
